The effect of IL-4, IL-10, and TGF-p on expression of procoagulant activity (PCA) and of
surface-associated tissue factor (TF) by human monocyte-derived macrophages was
determined. Monocytes were allowed to mature to macrophages in teflon bags, and were
primed either in suspension cultures, or after subculturing in microtiter plates. PCA was
determined in PBS-stimulated cells (constitutive PCA) or after stimulation with LPS for 6 hr.
